Alpha Hydroxy Acids
Alpha hydroxy acids (AHA) are natural acids found in fruit, milk and suagarcane which help loosen dean skin cells on the skin’s surface, increasing the speed at which they are removed and renewed.
Glycolic Acid
Glycolic acid ha the smallest molecular weight of all the AHA’s and, therefore, by virtue of its smaller size, has greater penetration ability than other organic acids.
The action of these acids is to loosen or break up the thick horny outer layer of the skin where an excessive build-up of dead skin cells occurs. This causes a sloughing of dead skin cells which improves the texture and condition fo the skin. They also increase the skin’s natural moisture-holding capability and improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Functions of Glycolic Acid
